It has been scripturally established that every true freedom in life and eternity is found in Christ. And knowing Christ provides freedom from the control of sin and bondage. Now let us look at ways we can experience true freedom in Christ Jesus.

 

SCRIPTURE:

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death, (Romans 8:2) KJV

 

REFRESHING FOR THE DAY:

A life without Christ equals bondage.

 

The Christian life is one of death to self and rising to walk in the newness of life (Romans 6:4), and that new life can only be found in Christ Jesus.

 

So, what are the ways we can experience true freedom in Christ?

 

1.    Total surrender to the authority of Jesus: Freedom in Christ is only possible through total surrender to the authority of Christ! If you want to be happy and fulfilled, if you want to be free from burdens that are crushing the very life out of you, if you want freedom from addiction, worry, and hatred, run to Jesus today and surrender your life to Him, (Romans 12:1-2).

 

2.    Put off your old self: One of the ways to find and experience true freedom in Christ is to put off your old self and bury it. Put off lying, stealing, bitterness, unforgiveness, and anger. The only way to bury them fully is by the power of the Spirit who is the only source of strength, (Ephesians 4:22).

 

3.    Put on the new nature of Christ, which consists of righteousness, usefulness, truthfulness, kindness, forgiveness and compassion, (Ephesians 4:24-32).

 

4.    Continually feed on the Word of God: We strengthen the new nature by continually feeding on the Word of God, (Psalm 1:1-3).

 

5.    Pray always: Through prayer we obtain the power we need to escape the desire to return to the old life of sin, (Luke 21:36). Stay Lifted!

 

NOTE THIS:

A life without Christ equals bondage.

 

RESPONSIBILITY:

Accept Jesus today, make Him the Master over your life, and you shall experience freedom in every area of your life.

 

PRAYER:

O LORD JESUS, set me free from the grip of the flesh, in the name of Jesus’ Amen! (Go ahead and continue to pray)

 

PROPHETIC WORD:

May the Lord set you free and make you whole free, in the name of Jesus, Amen.
