When God Feels Distant (2)
Times Of Refreshing Daily Devotional
Date: Monday, 23 February 2026
Topic: When God Feels Distant (2)
Focus: Serving God When You Feel Spiritually Tired
🔥Theme:
There are seasons when God feels near—and seasons when He feels far. Prayers feel dry. Worship feels heavy. Scripture feels quiet. Nothing dramatic happened, yet something feels distant. This series is for those quiet, confusing seasons when you love God—but don’t feel Him the way you once did. We will explore how to remain faithful when emotions fade, how to trust God beyond spiritual highs, and how to recognize that distance in feeling does not mean distance in reality. Sometimes God is closest when He feels the furthest.
📖 Key Verse:
“Why, my soul, are you downcast? … Put your hope in God.” — Psalm 42:5
Devotional:
There are seasons when you love God—but you feel tired. Not rebellious. Not distant on purpose. Just tired. Spiritual fatigue can come from long battles, extended waiting, responsibility, disappointment, or simply pouring out for others without refilling. Even Elijah, after a great victory, collapsed under exhaustion and asked God to take his life. What did God do? He did not rebuke him. He let him rest. He fed him. He restored him.
📖 Scripture Reading:
- 1 Kings 19:4–8 — Elijah’s exhaustion and restoration
- Isaiah 40:29 — God gives strength to the weary
- Matthew 11:28 — Come to Me and rest
💧 Refreshing for the Day:
Sometimes what feels like spiritual weakness is simply human exhaustion. God understands your limits. He knows you are dust. Serving Him does not mean running endlessly. It means staying connected—even when you need rest. You are not less faithful because you are tired. You are human. And God restores the weary. Stay Refreshed!
✨ Note This:
🌿 Exhaustion is not failure—it is a signal to return and rest.
🛡️ Responsibility:
Today, do one thing that restores your soul, not just your schedule.
🙏 Prayer:
Father, You see when I feel spiritually tired. Restore my strength, refresh my heart, and help me serve You from a place of renewal instead of pressure. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
🔥 Prophetic Declaration:
God restores my weary soul. I am refreshed, strengthened, and sustained by His grace. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
