When God Feels Distant (3)

Times Of Refreshing Daily Devotional

Date: Tuesday, 24 February 2026

Topic: When God Feels Distant (3)

Focus: When God Seems Silent for Too Long

🔥Theme:

There are seasons when God feels near—and seasons when He feels far. Prayers feel dry. Worship feels heavy. Scripture feels quiet. Nothing dramatic happened, yet something feels distant. This series is for those quiet, confusing seasons when you love God—but don’t feel Him the way you once did. We will explore how to remain faithful when emotions fade, how to trust God beyond spiritual highs, and how to recognize that distance in feeling does not mean distance in reality. Sometimes God is closest when He feels the furthest.

📖 Key Verse:
“Why, my soul, are you downcast? … Put your hope in God.”Psalm 42:5

Devotional:

Silence can be harder than struggle. When you are fighting something, at least you know something is happening. But when God seems silent for a long time, doubt can quietly creep in. You pray—and nothing changes. You wait—and no answer comes. You listen—and hear nothing. But Scripture shows us that silence is not absence. Joseph experienced years of silence before fulfillment. David waited long between promise and throne. Even Jesus experienced silence before resurrection.

📖 Scripture Reading:

  • Psalm 13:1–2 — Honest questions in silence
  • Isaiah 50:10 — Trusting in darkness
  • John 11:6 — Jesus delayed intentionally

💧 Refreshing for the Day:

So, beloved, God’s silence often means He is working beyond what you can see. Silence stretches trust. Silence purifies motives. Silence deepens dependence. If God feels silent, it does not mean He has stepped away. Sometimes He is building something underneath the surface that will speak louder later. Stay Refreshed!

Note This:

🌌 Silence does not mean God is absent. It often means He is preparing.

🛡️ Responsibility:

Continue trusting and obeying even if clarity has not yet come.

🙏 Prayer:

Father, when Your silence feels long, help me trust You anyway. Strengthen my faith and remind me that You are working even when I cannot see or hear it. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

🔥 Prophetic Declaration:

I trust God even in silence. He is working behind the scenes, and His timing will be perfect in my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
