When Delay Deepens the Oil

Times Of Refreshing Daily Devotional

Date: Wednesday, 29 April 2026

Topic: The Crushing Before the Anointing (4)

Focus: When Delay Deepens the Oil

🔥Theme:

How God uses pressure, pain, and breaking to produce the oil of purpose.

📖 Key Verse:
Key Verse: “But you have anointed me with fresh oil…”Psalm 92:10

Devotional:

One of the hardest parts of the crushing is delay. You know God has called you, yet the doors remain closed. You carry the promise, but the fulfillment feels far away. Delay can feel like frustration, but in God’s hands, it often becomes refinement. Fresh oil is not produced quickly. Time is part of the process. God often delays visible release because He is deepening what must sustain the calling. Character, wisdom, patience, and spiritual weight are developed in seasons of waiting.

📖 Scripture Reading:

  • 1 Samuel 16:13 — David anointed before the throne
  • Habakkuk 2:3 — Wait for the vision
  • Ecclesiastes 3:11 — Beautiful in its time

💧 Refreshing for the Day:

David was anointed long before he wore the crown. Joseph dreamed long before he stood in the palace. The oil came before the public platform. Delay is not denial. Delay is depth. God is not withholding from you—He is preparing you to carry what He promised without being crushed by it. Sometimes the wait is the anointing. Delay often deepens the oil before the release. Stay Refreshed!

Note This:

The wait is not wasted—it is where the oil gains depth.

🛡️ Responsibility:

Stay faithful in hidden seasons and trust that God is preparing more than you can currently see.

🙏 Prayer:

Father, help me trust You in seasons of delay. Deepen my character, strengthen my faith, and prepare me for all You have promised. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

🔥 Prophetic Declaration:

Every delay in my life is producing depth and strength. God is preparing me for greater oil and greater purpose. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
