COME AS YOU ARE
TIMES OF REFRESHING ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org
DATE: MONDAY, 30 AUGUST 2021
Most of the times, we beat ourselves up, we give up on life, thinking that we’re the worst set of people that God will never forgive. We think our sins are too numerous, and we feel we are not qualified to seek the face of God. But we fail to recognize that God is a God for the imperfect, and unqualified people. Any wonder Jesus said in Luke 5:32, “I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” So, come as you are, don’t condemn yourself, for Jesus has not condemned you (John 8:11).
SCRIPTURE: “Come now, let us settle the matter,” says the LORD. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.” (Isaiah 1:18) NIV
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: The sin you do not resist today, may resist your destiny tomorrow.
Beloved, do you know the first person that Jesus revealed himself to as the Messiah was not the religious leaders, was not the priest and rabbis at the synagogue, it was an adulterous woman, the Samarian woman who had been married for five times and was living with the sixth man? A woman that had made mistakes, a woman that was beaten down by life, an imperfect person (John 4:5-43). But when she met Jesus, that one encounter changed her life.
Now like that woman, too many of us are sitting on the sidelines of life. They feel like they’ve blown it too many times, they’ve failed and they haven’t measured up. But my counsel is, stop beating yourself up. You may have made mistakes, but God doesn’t love you less, He loves you more. He’s expressing His love to you today. You wouldn’t be reading this devotional if God wasn’t reaching out to you. Now, get rid of the guilt, shake off the condemnation, and come to Jesus today and your life will never remain the same. Stay Lifted!
NOTE THIS: The sin you do not resist today, may resist your destiny tomorrow.
RESPONSIBILITY: Stop condemning yourself, take the bold step and come as you are to Jesus.
