Another way we can be more effective and make most of our time is by checking our motives. Motives are very important to God. They are the reason why we do what we do. Why we do something is even more important than what we do. And that’s why it’s so important for us to take the time to stop and ask ourselves why we are doing what we are doing. So, the bible says.

SCRIPTURE: “Be careful not to perform your righteous acts before men to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven. (Matthew 6:1 BSB)

REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: Beloved, motive is everything. When we do things with a wrong motive, we may get busy without being fruitful, we may get acknowledgement from people. But that is not as satisfying as doing what is so pleasing to God and accomplishing His purpose in our lives, which has eternal value. So, the bottom line is, in as much as it’s good to do something, but we need to keep our motives right. Stay Refreshed!

NOTE THIS: Why we do something is more important than what we do.

RESPONSIBILITY: So, in everything we do in life, we must learn to check our motive of doing it. Does it please God, or is it a mere show off?

PRAYER: O LORD, give me the grace to always keep the right motives in everything I do in life, in the name of Jesus’ Amen! (Go ahead and continue to pray)

PROPHETIC WORD: As you do whatever you do with right motives, may your efforts never be in vain, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
