When Breaking Removes Pride
Times Of Refreshing Daily Devotional
Date: Monday, 27 April 2026
Topic: The Crushing Before the Anointing (2)
Focus: When Breaking Removes Pride
🔥Theme:
How God uses pressure, pain, and breaking to produce the oil of purpose.
📖 Key Verse:
Key Verse: “But you have anointed me with fresh oil…” — Psalm 92:10
Devotional:
Before God can trust us with greater oil, He often deals with pride first. Pride is subtle. It hides in self-reliance, in the need to control outcomes, and in the belief that our own strength is enough. Sometimes we do not even realize it is there until life begins to break us. Breaking reveals what pride tries to hide. Peter was confident in his own loyalty. He boldly declared that he would never deny Jesus. Yet one painful night exposed the weakness beneath that confidence. His breaking was painful, but it prepared him for true humility and lasting strength.
📖 Scripture Reading:
- Luke 22:31–34, 61–62 — Peter’s breaking
- James 4:6 — God gives grace to the humble
- Proverbs 16:18 — Pride before destruction
💧 Refreshing for the Day:
God does not break us to shame us. He breaks pride so grace can rest on us. Oil flows best through surrendered vessels, not proud ones. Sometimes the breaking is not about what you lost—it is about what God is removing from within. God often breaks pride before He releases greater purpose. Stay Refreshed!
✨ Note This:
🔥 God breaks pride because pride cannot carry oil.
🛡️ Responsibility:
Ask God honestly to reveal any hidden pride and help you walk in humility.
🙏 Prayer:
Father, search my heart and remove every form of pride. Teach me humility and make me a vessel that can carry Your presence and purpose. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
🔥 Prophetic Declaration:
My heart is surrendered to God. Pride is broken, humility is growing, and fresh oil is flowing in my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
🔥 Prophetic Declaration:
God is using every pressure in my life for purpose. The crushing is producing fresh oil and greater strength in me. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
