The Spirit of the Fear of the Lord (1)

Times Of Refreshing Daily Devotional

Date: Sunday, 19 October 2025

Topic: The Spirit of the Fear of the Lord (1)

Focus: The Beginning of Wisdom

🔥 Message:

The Fear of the Lord is not terror—it is reverence, awe, and holy submission to God’s majesty. It is the posture of heart that says, “Lord, I honor You above all.” To walk in the fear of the Lord is to live conscious of His presence, careful with His Word, and captivated by His holiness. Proverbs 9:10 declares: “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.”

Beloved, this is not the fear that drives you away from God—it’s the fear that draws you closer, knowing He is holy yet merciful, mighty yet near. So, over the next seven days, we will journey into the sacred beauty of holy reverence—learning how this Spirit transforms how we pray, serve, love, and live.

📖 Key Verse:

Proverbs 9:10 (NKJV): “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.”

Devotional:
The fear of the Lord is the foundation of all spiritual understanding. It is the gateway to divine wisdom—the posture of heart that positions you to receive instruction from Heaven. To fear the Lord is not to be afraid of Him—it is to revere Him so deeply that you tremble at His Word and submit to His authority. It’s the awareness that He is God and we are not. This holy fear doesn’t create distance; it draws us closer in humility and awe.

Moses experienced this fear when he stood before the burning bush. Isaiah felt it when he cried, “Woe is me, for I am undone!” (Isaiah 6:5). Peter encountered it when he fell before Jesus saying, “Depart from me, for I am a sinful man.” Every true encounter with God births reverence.

📖 Scripture Reading:
Proverbs 9:10 – The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.
Isaiah 6:1–5 – Isaiah encounters God’s holiness.
Psalm 111:10 – “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow His precepts have good understanding.”

💧 Refreshing for the Day:
When you live in the fear of the Lord, you make decisions differently. You speak carefully. You handle people, money, and opportunities with purity—because you know God is watching. The Spirit of the Fear of the Lord teaches us that wisdom begins where reverence is restored. Wisdom begins where reverence for God is restored. Stay Refreshed!

Note This:
🔥 The fear of the Lord is not terror—it’s holy awe that leads to obedience.
