The Spirit of the Fear of the Lord (2)
Times Of Refreshing Daily Devotional
Date: Monday, 20 October 2025
Topic: The Spirit of the Fear of the Lord (2)
Focus: Reverence That Attracts His Presence
🔥 Message:
The Fear of the Lord is not terror—it is reverence, awe, and holy submission to God’s majesty. It is the posture of heart that says, “Lord, I honor You above all.” To walk in the fear of the Lord is to live conscious of His presence, careful with His Word, and captivated by His holiness. Proverbs 9:10 declares: “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.”
Beloved, this is not the fear that drives you away from God—it’s the fear that draws you closer, knowing He is holy yet merciful, mighty yet near. So, over the next seven days, we will journey into the sacred beauty of holy reverence—learning how this Spirit transforms how we pray, serve, love, and live.
📖 Key Verse:
Proverbs 9:10 (NKJV): “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.”
Devotional:
God’s presence does not dwell where He is not honored. The Spirit of the Fear of the Lord teaches us that reverence creates an atmosphere for His glory to remain.
Psalm 25:14 says: “The secret of the Lord is with those who fear Him, and He will show them His covenant.” Reverence invites intimacy. When you approach God with holy awe—recognizing His greatness and treating His presence as sacred—you attract the manifest presence of His Spirit. Heaven responds to humility and honor.
Moses removed his sandals before the burning bush because he recognized holy ground (Exodus 3:5). The early Church walked in the fear of the Lord and the comfort of the Holy Spirit, and the result was growth, power, and miracles (Acts 9:31).
📖 Scripture Reading:
Psalm 25:14 – The secret of the Lord is with those who fear Him.
Exodus 3:5 – Moses honors the holy ground.
Acts 9:31 – The Church walked in the fear of the Lord and grew.
