The Spirit of the Fear of the Lord (3)
Times Of Refreshing Daily Devotional
Date: Tuesday, 21 October 2025
Topic: The Spirit of the Fear of the Lord (3)
Focus: Clean Hands and a Pure Heart
🔥 Message:
The Fear of the Lord is not terror—it is reverence, awe, and holy submission to God’s majesty. It is the posture of heart that says, “Lord, I honor You above all.” To walk in the fear of the Lord is to live conscious of His presence, careful with His Word, and captivated by His holiness. Proverbs 9:10 declares: “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.”
Beloved, this is not the fear that drives you away from God—it’s the fear that draws you closer, knowing He is holy yet merciful, mighty yet near. So, over the next seven days, we will journey into the sacred beauty of holy reverence—learning how this Spirit transforms how we pray, serve, love, and live.
📖 Key Verse:
Proverbs 9:10 (NKJV): “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.”
Devotional:
The Spirit of the Fear of the Lord produces purity—it cleanses your motives and refines your heart. When you walk in holy reverence, sin becomes unbearable and compromise loses its appeal. Psalm 24:3–4 asks: “Who may ascend the mountain of the Lord? Who may stand in His holy place? The one who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not trust in an idol or swear by a false god.” The fear of the Lord is not about outward behavior—it’s about inward posture. It’s the awareness that your life is an altar before God, and your choices are acts of worship. David prayed, “Create in me a clean heart, O God” (Psalm 51:10) because he knew that purity preserves intimacy.
📖 Scripture Reading:
Psalm 24:3–4 – Only the pure in heart may stand in His holy place.
Psalm 51:10–12 – “Create in me a clean heart, O God.”
Matthew 5:8 – “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.”
💧 Refreshing for the Day:
So, beloved, when your hands are clean, your prayers rise unhindered. When your heart is pure, your ears discern His whisper. The Spirit of the Fear of the Lord refines you, not to condemn, but to prepare you to carry His presence without mixture. He purifies not to punish but to make room for glory. Purity is not perfection—it’s alignment with God’s holiness. Stay Refreshed!
