The Spirit of Revival (3)

Times Of Refreshing Daily Devotional

Date: Tuesday, 28 October 2025

Topic: The Spirit of Revival (3)

Focus: The Brokenness That Births Revival

🔥 Message:

The Spirit of Revival awakens what has grown cold, restores what has been lost, and breathes life into dry bones. Revival is not a one-time event—it’s a continual awakening of hearts to the reality of God’s presence. When the Spirit of Revival moves, complacency is shattered, hunger is rekindled, and holiness becomes beautiful again.

Habakkuk prayed: “Lord, I have heard of Your fame; I stand in awe of Your deeds, Lord. Repeat them in our day, in our time make them known; in wrath remember mercy.”
—Habakkuk 3:2

Revival begins not in crowds, but in hearts. It starts when believers bow low before God, repent of self-sufficiency, and cry out for His presence to fill their lives again. So, beloved, this devotional series will stir your heart to hunger for more of God, rebuild your personal altar, and align you with Heaven’s heartbeat for renewal and awakening.

📖 Key Verse:

Habakkuk 3:2 (NIV): “Lord, I have heard of Your fame; I stand in awe of Your deeds, Lord. Repeat them in our day, in our time make them known; in wrath remember mercy.”

Devotional:
Before revival comes to a people, it first comes to a heart—and that heart is usually broken. The Spirit of Revival doesn’t rest on pride, performance, or pretense. He moves through humility, repentance, and surrender. Psalm 51:17 says: “The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart—these, O God, You will not despise.”

David didn’t offer God perfect words or flawless worship—he offered brokenness. That’s the kind of heart the Spirit can fill. Revival is not birthed in noise but in tears—tears of repentance, longing, and desire for holiness.

📖 Scripture Reading:
Psalm 51:17 – God does not despise a broken and contrite heart.
Isaiah 57:15 – God dwells with the contrite and humble in spirit.
Joel 2:12–13 – “Rend your heart and not your garments.”

💧 Refreshing for the Day:
When the Spirit of Revival comes, He doesn’t begin with the crowd; He begins with the contrite. He breaks hardened hearts so that His glory can flow freely again. Belove, brokenness is not weakness—it’s the breaking open of what’s closed so God can pour Himself in. A proud heart resists revival, but a broken heart attracts it. So, when you humble yourself before God, you create a dwelling place for His Spirit to rest. Revival begins where pride ends and brokenness begins. Stay Refreshed!

Note This:
🔥 The soil of a broken heart is where the fire of revival falls.

🛡️ Responsibility:
✅ Spend time in personal reflection today. Ask the Holy Spirit: “What in me needs to be broken for Your glory to flow?” Surrender it completely.

🙏 Prayer:
Lord, I bring You my brokenness. Shatter every hardness in me and let Your fire fall upon the altar of my heart. I want nothing between us—revive me from within. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

🔥 Prophetic Declaration:
My heart is open and contrite before the Lord! From my brokenness, His fire flows, and revival begins to burn again in me. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
