The Spirit of Counsel (3)

Times Of Refreshing Daily Devotional

Date: Tuesday, 30 September 2025

Topic: The Spirit of Counsel (3)

Focus: Counsel in the Night Seasons

🔥 Message:

Life is full of decisions—some small, others destiny-defining. Human reasoning can only take you so far, but the Spirit of Counsel provides divine guidance that never fails. Counsel is more than advice; it is Heaven’s direction, given by the Spirit, that leads you into the path of God’s will. Psalm 16:7 declares: “I will bless the Lord who has given me counsel; my heart also instructs me in the night seasons.”

The Spirit of Counsel does not just answer questions—it aligns your heart with God’s wisdom, provides clarity in confusion, and gives peace in direction. He teaches you how to walk, when to wait, and where to go. This devotional series will help you learn how to recognize, receive, and walk in the counsel of God, so that your life decisions align with Heaven’s design.

📖 Key Verse:

Psalm 16:7 (NKJV): “I will bless the Lord who has given me counsel; my heart also instructs me in the night seasons.”

Devotional:
God’s counsel is not limited to daylight or easy times—it often comes in the night seasons of life. When everything seems dark and uncertain, His Spirit whispers direction and assurance. Psalm 16:7 says: “I will bless the Lord who has given me counsel; my heart also instructs me in the night seasons.” Many in Scripture received divine counsel in the night:

  • Jacob dreamed of a ladder reaching Heaven (Genesis 28:12).
  • Joseph was warned in a dream to take Mary and Jesus to Egypt (Matthew 2:13).
  • Paul was strengthened in a vision during a dark season of ministry (Acts 18:9–10).

📖 Scripture Reading:
Psalm 16:7 – God gives counsel in the night seasons.
Matthew 2:13 – Joseph warned in a dream.
Acts 18:9–10 – Paul encouraged by God’s counsel in a vision.

💧 Refreshing for the Day:
The night often represents seasons of trial, waiting, or confusion. Yet it is there that God gives counsel, reminding us that His light shines brightest in darkness. So, beloved, do not despise the night seasons—they are often the womb of revelation. The darkest nights often carry the clearest counsel from God. Stay Refreshed!

Note This:
🔥 Night seasons are not wasted—they are classrooms of divine counsel.

🛡️ Responsibility:
✅ Tonight, before sleeping, ask: “Lord, counsel me as I rest. Speak to me in dreams, visions, or impressions of Your Spirit.” Keep a journal by your bed.

🙏 Prayer:
Lord, thank You for counseling me even in the night seasons. Let my heart be sensitive to Your whispers, and may I never miss Your voice in times of darkness. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

🔥 Prophetic Declaration:
Even in my night seasons, I am guided by the counsel of the Lord! Darkness cannot confuse me—His light instructs my steps. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
