The Intercessor’s Burden (3)
Times Of Refreshing Daily Devotional
Date: Tuesday, 22 July 2025
Topic: The Intercessor’s Burden (3)
Focus: Groaning Between Earth and Heaven
🔥 Message:
Heaven is looking for those who will carry its weight—those who will not just pray for change, but through it. True intercession is not convenient prayer; it is costly, consuming, and born from a heart aligned with God’s own. This devotional journey is a call to rise into the priestly place of intercession—a place where God shares His burden, His groan, and His vision for the earth. It’s not glamorous, but it’s glorious. Intercession is how heaven partners with earth to birth breakthrough.
So, beloved, if you’ve ever felt the weight of a generation, the ache for revival, or the longing to see lives transformed—this burden is for you.
📖 Key Verse:
Ezekiel 22:30 – “I looked for someone… to stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land…”
Devotional:
There is a place in prayer where words are no longer enough. A place where the burden is so deep that your spirit groans—not in frustration, but in holy travail. This is where intercession moves from speaking to birthing. Romans 8:22–23 says all of creation is groaning as it waits for redemption, and we too groan inwardly. Why? Because we sense the tension between what is and what should be. Intercessors live in that space—between the pain of the present and the promise of God. They become midwives of the Spirit, birthing breakthrough through prayer.
📖 Scripture Reading:
Romans 8:22–23 – “We ourselves… groan inwardly…”
1 Kings 18:42 – “Elijah bent down… with his face between his knees.”
1 Samuel 1:13 – “Hannah was praying in her heart, and her lips were moving but her voice was not heard.”
💧 Refreshing for the Day:
Elijah groaned on Mount Carmel before the rain came. Hannah groaned in the temple before her miracle was born. Jesus groaned at the tomb of Lazarus before calling him forth. Groaning isn’t weakness—it’s depth. It’s the voice of spiritual labor. So, beloved, God is calling you deeper—into the place where prayers are not just spoken, but travailed. This is where revival is born. Groaning is the language of the desperate—and heaven understands it well.
✨ Note This:
When you groan in prayer, you partner with God to birth what has not yet come.
🛡️ Responsibility:
✅ Take a moment today to reflect on a promise not yet fulfilled. Groan over it in prayer—not with complaint, but with holy expectation. Let God stir travail in your spirit.
🙏 Prayer:
Lord, teach me to labor in the Spirit. Give me grace to groan, to travail, and to birth what You desire on the earth. Let my prayers be wombs for Your will. I yield to the burden until it breaks forth. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
🔥 Prophetic Declaration:
I am a birthing intercessor! My groan is holy. My tears are seeds. My prayers carry the weight of heaven. What I groan for in the Spirit shall manifest in the natural! In Jesus’ name, Amen!
📖 Bible Texts:
