The Intercessor’s Burden (4)
Times Of Refreshing Daily Devotional
Date: Wednesday, 23 July 2025
Topic: The Intercessor’s Burden (4)
Focus: Between the Porch and the Altar
🔥 Message:
Heaven is looking for those who will carry its weight—those who will not just pray for change, but through it. True intercession is not convenient prayer; it is costly, consuming, and born from a heart aligned with God’s own. This devotional journey is a call to rise into the priestly place of intercession—a place where God shares His burden, His groan, and His vision for the earth. It’s not glamorous, but it’s glorious. Intercession is how heaven partners with earth to birth breakthrough.
So, beloved, if you’ve ever felt the weight of a generation, the ache for revival, or the longing to see lives transformed—this burden is for you.
📖 Key Verse:
Ezekiel 22:30 – “I looked for someone… to stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land…”
Devotional:
There is a sacred space in Scripture where the priests would stand—between the porch and the altar. It wasn’t a glamorous place. It was a place of weeping, pleading, and interceding for mercy on behalf of the people. Joel 2:17 gives this cry: “Let the priests, who minister before the Lord, weep between the porch and the altar…” This was not shallow prayer—it was a priestly burden. A heart broken not just for personal needs, but for a generation. These were not casual prayers; they were costly ones. The porch represents the outer court—what people see. The altar is the place of sacrifice. The intercessor lives between both: deeply connected to heaven, but broken for the condition of earth.
📖 Scripture Reading:
Joel 2:17 – “Let the priests weep between the porch and the altar…”
Exodus 32:11–14 – Moses pleads for mercy after Israel’s rebellion.
Hebrews 7:25 – “He always lives to intercede for them.”
💧 Refreshing for the Day:
In this hour, God is restoring the ministry of those who will weep in between. Those who will say, “Spare Your people, O Lord!” Who will intercede until mercy triumphs over judgment. So, beloved, if you feel the tension between where people are and where God is calling them—that is your assignment. The burden between the porch and the altar is not for everyone—but it’s the place where revival is born. Stay Refreshed!
✨ Note This:
Intercessors stand where others fall—between sin and salvation, pleading for mercy.
🛡️ Responsibility:
✅ Take a moment today to intercede for your city, church, or generation. Cry out between the need and the promise. Don’t rush it—let the burden lead you.
🙏 Prayer:
Lord, I choose to stand between the porch and the altar. Make me a priest who weeps for souls, a vessel of mercy, and a voice that cries, “Spare Your people.” Let revival begin with my tears. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
🔥 Prophetic Declaration:
I take my place between the porch and the altar! I cry out for my generation. My prayers are bridges between judgment and mercy. God hears my cry—and He will answer! In Jesus’ name, Amen!
