When the Darkness Feels Permanent
Times Of Refreshing Daily Devotional
Date: Monday, 1 June 2026
Topic: Buried Before Blooming (2)
Focus: When the Darkness Feels Permanent
🔥Theme:
Why God often hides, covers, and buries what He intends to make flourish.
📖 Key Verse:
“Unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain.” — John 12:24
Devotional:
One of the hardest parts of being buried is the darkness. Seeds are planted beneath the soil where there is no sunlight, no applause, and no visible evidence of progress. If the seed could speak, it might wonder if it had been forgotten. Many believers know this feeling. You pray, but heaven seems quiet. You obey, but nothing appears to change. You wait, but the promise seems further away than ever. The darkness can become so long that it feels permanent. But what the seed does not realize is that the darkness is not its grave—it is its greenhouse.
📖 Scripture Reading:
- Micah 7:8 — Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light
- Psalm 30:5 — Weeping may endure for a night
- Isaiah 50:10 — Trusting God in darkness
💧 Refreshing for the Day:
While the seed is hidden beneath the soil, roots are developing. Strength is forming. Life is emerging in places nobody can see. God often does His greatest work in seasons that appear least productive. Joseph spent years in prison before the palace. David spent years running before the throne. Even Jesus spent three days in the tomb before the resurrection. The darkness is not proof that God has abandoned you. It is often proof that God is preparing something that cannot grow in the light of public attention. The buried season has an expiration date. Morning always follows the night. Stay Refreshed!
✨ Note This:
🌑 The darkness around you does not cancel the life within you.
🛡️ Responsibility:
Choose faith today even if you cannot yet see visible growth.
🙏 Prayer:
Father, when the darkness feels long and overwhelming, help me trust that You are still working. Strengthen my faith and remind me that this season will not last forever. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
🔥 Prophetic Declaration:
God is working beneath the surface of my life. The darkness is not my destination. I will emerge stronger, deeper, and ready to bloom in His perfect time. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
