When God Hides the Seed
Times Of Refreshing Daily Devotional
Date: Sunday, 31 May 2026
Topic: Buried Before Blooming (1)
Focus: When God Hides the Seed
🔥Theme:
Why God often hides, covers, and buries what He intends to make flourish.
📖 Key Verse:
“Unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain.” — John 12:24
Devotional:
One of the first things God does with a seed is hide it. The seed is taken from visibility and placed into darkness. No one applauds it. No one notices it. No one celebrates it. From the outside, it appears as though nothing is happening. Yet beneath the surface, the process of life has already begun. Many believers struggle with hidden seasons because we naturally associate visibility with progress. We think if nobody sees us, nothing important is happening. But God often does His deepest work where nobody is looking.
📖 Scripture Reading:
- John 12:24 — The seed must fall into the ground
- Psalm 31:20 — Hidden in His presence
- Colossians 3:3 — Your life is hidden with Christ
💧 Refreshing for the Day:
Joseph was hidden in prison. David was hidden in the fields. Moses was hidden in the wilderness. Jesus spent thirty years in obscurity before three years of public ministry. Hiddenness is not abandonment. Sometimes God hides you because He is protecting what He is developing. A seed exposed too early can die. What God intends to bloom must first be hidden. Hidden seasons are often growing seasons. Stay Refreshed!
✨ Note This:
🌱 God hides what He intends to grow.
🛡️ Responsibility:
Stop measuring your progress by visibility. Trust what God is doing beneath the surface.
🙏 Prayer:
Father, help me trust You in hidden seasons. When I feel overlooked or forgotten, remind me that You are working beneath the surface. Give me grace to grow where You have planted me. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
🔥 Prophetic Declaration:
I am not forgotten. I am planted by God. Though hidden today, I will bloom in His appointed season. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
