The God Who Owes No Explanation
Times Of Refreshing Daily Devotional
Date: Saturday, 20 June 2026
Topic: The Things God Didn’t Explain (7)
Focus: The God Who Owes No Explanation
🔥Theme:
Trusting God when He gives instructions without explanations.
📖 Key Verse:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” — Proverbs 3:5
Devotional:
There comes a moment in every believer’s journey when faith reaches a crossroads. One road says: “I will trust God only if I understand.” The other says: “I will trust God even when I don’t.” This is the place where Job stood. He had questions. He had pain. He had losses. He had mysteries that seemed too heavy to carry. And when God finally spoke, He did not give Job a detailed explanation. He gave him a revelation of Himself. “Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth?” (Job 38:4) God was not being harsh. He was revealing something profound: The answer to every mystery is not an explanation—it is the greatness of God.
📖 Scripture Reading:
- Job 38:1–7 — The Lord answers Job
- Isaiah 55:8–9 — His ways are higher
- Romans 11:33 — The depth of His wisdom
💧 Refreshing for the Day:
There are things God may never explain on this side of eternity. Why that door closed. Why that season lasted so long. Why that prayer seemed unanswered. Why that loss happened. And yet, faith reaches maturity when it no longer says: “God, explain Yourself to me.” But rather: “God, I trust You because I know Your heart.” Children require explanations. Mature sons and daughters learn trust. The God who numbers the stars, holds the oceans, and ordains the seasons does not cease being good simply because He remains silent. His wisdom is deeper than our understanding. His purposes are higher than our plans. His love is greater than our questions. The greatest peace comes when we stop demanding explanations and begin resting in His character. Because even when His hand is hidden, His heart remains good. Stay Refreshed!
✨ Note This:
🌙 God does not have to explain Himself to remain trustworthy.
🛡️ Responsibility:
Surrender the need to understand everything and choose to trust God’s character above your questions.
🙏 Prayer:
Father, there are things I may never fully understand. Teach me to trust Your wisdom, Your love, and Your goodness. When questions remain unanswered, help me rest in the certainty that You are faithful. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
🔥 Prophetic Declaration:
I trust the heart of God even when I cannot understand His ways. His wisdom is perfect, His timing is right, and His love for me never fails. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
