PRAYING WITH THE RIGHT INTENTION

TIMES OF REFRESHING
ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL by Obiorah Prince Emeka
DATE: SUNDAY 2 AUGUST 2020
TOPIC: PRAYING WITH THE RIGHT INTENTION
One of the principles to get heaven to speedily honor our prayers, is when we pray with the right intent. Praying with the right intention is creating a pathway for divine intervention in our lives. It is adopting strategies to bring down the glory of God, and patterning our requests to suit the will of God.
In life, there are always what to pray for. However, many times, we pray amiss, (James 4:3). There is every need for us to shift our focus from the point of asking God to do this and that for us, and begin to show God the relevance of our request to His kingdom.
SCRIPTURE:
… “O Lord, if you will look upon my sorrow and answer my prayer and give me a son, then I will give him back to you. He will be yours for his entire lifetime, and as a sign that he has been dedicated to the Lord, his hair will never be cut. (1 Samuel 1:11)
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY:
Your tears don’t move God, rather the intent of your prayers do.
From the scripture above, Hannah was barren for many years. She cried and wept at the place of prayer. But until that faithful day at Shiloh, she realised the principle that moves heaven. She said to God, give me a son and I will give you a priest. Immediately, heaven honors her prayer. We are encouraged to pray with the intention of expanding the kingdom of God.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WE PRAY WITH RIGHT INTENTION?
1.    Protocols are broken to the shame of devil.
2.    Disgrace, gossip and mockery are ended, (1 Sam 1:20)
3.    Sorrows and midnight cries are over.
HOW TO PATTERN YOUR PRAYER WITH RIGHT INTENTION
1.    In your prayers, show God how useful your answers would benefit the Christendom and generations to come.
2.    Don’t pray with selfish mind. Pray at the kingdomic point of view.
3.    Ask yourself, “how would mankind benefit from the answers to my prayers?”
NOTE THIS:
Your tears don’t move God, rather the intent of your prayers do.
RESPONSIBILITY:
Learn to pattern your prayer intention to suit the will of God.
PRAYER:
O God, give me the grace to pray with the right intention, in Jesus name, Amen! (Go ahead and begin to pray)
PROPHETIC WORD:
May God be generous to you and answer your prayers, in the name of Jesus, Amen!
