LOVE YOURSELF FOR WHO YOU ARE (2)

TIMES OF REFRESHING ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org

DATE: SUNDAY, 28 JANUARY 2023

Yet again, beloved, loving yourself the way you are, has everything to do with your inner joy and your relationship with other people. Bearing in mind that the Scripture says, “you shall love your neighbor as yourself…” (Mark 12:31); this resonates that the love and affection you would share emanate from you. But then when you don’t love yourself first, how then do you love others. So, this calls for a strong reflection on this subject matter. And also suggests a lot with our spiritual development and maturity.

SCRIPTURE: Whoever gets sense loves his own soul; he who keeps understanding will discover good. (Proverbs 19:8 ESV)

REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: So, could this be the reason why there are so many strife and malice in the world, even amongst the brethren. Because the people got it wrong. The truth is juxtaposed. We can never give what we don’t have. We must first love, care and appreciate ourselves for who we are; then we can love, care and appreciate others. Any wonder this mandate is said to be the first and greatest commandment (Matthew 22:38). So, we are all encouraged to love ourselves for who we are and begin to see the good in us. And when we do, we can have the joy that we seek and a healthy relationship. Stay Refreshed!

NOTE THIS: The love and peace we seek to have in the world today are staked to us. It all begins with us when begin to sincerely love ourselves just for who we are.

RESPONSIBILITY: So, beloved, you must learn to love yourself for who you are, until then you may never love others.

PRAYER: Oh Lord, give me the grace to love myself for who I am, and cause me to love others, in Jesus’ name, Amen!

PROPHETIC WORD: Receive the grace to love yourself for who you are, even as you love others, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!

BIBLE TEXTS: Proverbs 19:8, Mark 12:31, Matthew 22:38
