ENEMIES OF DESTINY
TIMES OF REFRESHING
ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL by Obiorah Prince Emeka
DATE: MONDAY 14 SEPTEMBER 2020
Many a time, when we talk about enemies of destiny, what come to our mind is evil and satanic manipulations. Yes, they are but, in this context, we will be looking at those self traits that pose restrictions towards fulfilling our God ordained destiny.
Enemies of destiny does not intend to attack you; they are focused on attacking your purpose of existence. Their focus is to pull you away from becoming what God has destined for you.
SCRIPTURE:
…Is it time to receive money and to receive clothing, olive groves and vineyards,… Therefore, the leprosy of Naaman shall cling to you and your descendants forever.” (2 Kings 5:26-27) NKJV
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY:
When a man’s destiny is destroyed, he is alive but a walking corpse.
Greed is one of the most wicked and deadliest enemies of destiny. It is the most silent, but most poisonous.
From the anchor scripture, Gehazi saw a perfect opportunity to get rich by selfishly asking for the reward Elisha had refused. Unfortunately, his actions led him to willingly accepted money that had been offered to someone else; and lied to cover up his motives for accepting the money.
His master Elisha placed a curse upon his life and generation forever. He was covered with Naaman’s leprosy. Although Gehazi had been a helpful servant to Elisha, but personal gain, greed and envy had become more important to him than serving God.
Gehazi did not only lost his place in destiny, he also extended the curse upon his descendants. This sounds as a great warning to people who for want of personal gains will loot the church fund, and misappropriate money under their care.
Beloved, today, the word of God is encouraging us to retrace our steps and sincerely make amendments.
NOTE THIS:
When a man’s destiny is destroyed, he is alive but a walking corpse.
