DUST OFF YOUR BIBLE
TIMES OF REFRESHING ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org
DATE: MONDAY, 28 JUNE 2021
Many times, we complain “God is silent, He doesn’t answer my prayers” And each time I see Christians grumble and say things like this, it resonates in me and I would begin to ask myself this honest question; “Is it that the barber doesn’t know how to barb or his clipper isn’t sharp enough”? This question is a long aged native proverb, which is likened to us as well. Now shifting the focus to us, it asks, “Is God actually silent and doesn’t answer our prayers, or are we deafened and inattentive to grasp what He’s saying per time?” But the Scripture says…
SCRIPTURE: ‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’ (Jeremiah 33:3) NKJV
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: A closed and shelved bible is a shut, locked and padlocked destiny. No wonder, someone once said, “Complaining about God being silent when your Bible is closed is like complaining about not getting texts when your phone is turned off.” How true could this be?
Let’s look at our anchor Scripture Jer 33:3, it shows basically 4 responsibilities to be considered; 2 for God and 2 for us (you & me). It’s our duty and responsibility to call on God, it’s God’s to answer and respond to us. So, we’ve called Him and He says, “I will show you great and mighty things, which you do not know”. These great and mighty things are contained in the bible. And unless we pick up our bible, dust it and study it, we may not grasp these great and mighty things which God is showing to us.
So Beloved, I ask you, would God answer us while our bible is closed and shelved? Stay Lifted!
NOTE THIS: A closed and shelved bible is a shut, locked and padlocked destiny.
RESPONSIBILITY: Pick up your bible, dust it and study it.
PRAYER: O LORD, give me the grace to study Your Word, in the name of Jesus’ Amen! (Go ahead and continue to pray)
PROPHETIC WORD: As you study your bible, may God reveal to you great and mighty things concerning your life and purposes, in the name of Jesus, Amen.
