DON’T STOP, KEEP ON DIGGING (1)

TIMES OF REFRESHING

ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL by Obiorah Prince Emeka

DATE: TUESDAY 4 AUGUST 2020

A young man queried and he said, “I have done practically everything in life to make ends meet; there is no manner of prayer I have not said, yet I’m still irrelevant, why is my life different?”. Among the Christendom, the ratio of people in this category are extremely high, despite their vast knowledge about prayer.

Beloved, I don’t know that which you have done severally, and it seems nothing glorious could come out of it. Today, as God helps us, we will be looking at certain principles of life most believers are ignorant of.

SCRIPTURE:

It came to pass the same day that Isaac’s servants came and told him about the well which they had dug, and said to him, “We have found water.” (Genesis 26:32) NKJV

REFRESHING FOR THE DAY:

When life and men are false and unkind, still God is faithful and gracious.

In Genesis 26ff, Isaac dug several wells amidst strong oppositions. The Philistines attacked to stop him.  Despite many adversaries against him, he continued and eventually dug a well of living water at Beersheba.

One of the principles of life success is unquenched persistence. It is the tenacity and determination to achieve desired goal in life.

THINGS TO NOTE ABOUT PERSISTENCE

1.    Positive Results are answerable to a determined and persistent heart. (Luke 18:1-8, 1 Thess. 5:17)

2.    Testimony is a result of determination and doggedness. (Prov 26:30)

3.    Persistence dispels oppositions.

4.    Faith in God is a function of being persistence in life. (2 Pt 1:12, Luke 11:5-10)

5.    The show of persistence in a man’s life is the evidence of focus.

NOTE THIS:

When life and men are false and unkind, still God is faithful and gracious.

RESPONSIBILITY:

Never give up, no matter how hopeless. Try some more.

PRAYER:

O God, give me the grace to attend greater heights in life, in Jesus’ name, Amen! (Go ahead and begin to pray)

PROPHETIC WORD:

Where others slumped and stopped, may you find strength to keep moving on, in the name of Jesus, Amen!
