Most habitually, people misapprehend mere going to church regularly and engaging in some religious activities as having a relationship with God. Yes, doing all these are very good; but in all it’s great to have a personal relationship with God. Your relationship with God determines your everything in life, destiny and eternity, (Matt. 6:33).

What then does it mean to have a relationship with God? Having a relationship with God begins with knowing His Son and our Saviour Jesus Christ, (John 14:6). Remaining in a constant communion with God by spending quality time with Him in prayers and Word study and demonstrating strong obedience to His instructions.

SCRIPTURE:

And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God, (Luke 6:12) KJV

REFRESHING FOR THE DAY:

You cannot be in a relationship with God and be relegated in life.

Your relationship with God determines your prominence and distinction in life. Show me a man who constantly dwell in the chambers of prayer with God, you have seen a man who is most distinctively regarded in his generation, (Job 1:8). Your relationship with God determines your safety and protection by God, (Psalm 91:1, Psalm 23:4).

Our anchor scripture shows Jesus had relationship with God, and so He spent lots of time communicating with God through reading the Bible and praying. You will never have a good relationship with God unless you spend lots of time in the Word and in prayer.

Beloved, people who had a very strong relationship with God in scripture – Daniel, David, Nehemiah, Job, etc, were all prominent and successful in their generations, (see Daniel 6:1-10). They put God first and could not come last in life. They talked to God first every morning before talking to men. Do you want to excel in everything you do in life? Seek to have a personal relationship with God today. Stay Lifted!

NOTE THIS:

You cannot be in a relationship with God and be relegated in life.

RESPONSIBILITY:
