When the Pit Comes Before the Palace
Times Of Refreshing Daily Devotional
Date: Monday, 20 April 2026
Topic: Delayed Destiny (2)
Focus: When the Pit Comes Before the Palace
🔥Theme:
Trusting God when the promise takes longer than expected.
📖 Key Verse:
Key Verse: “Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay.” — Habakkuk 2:3
Devotional:
Many people love the promise, but few expect the pit. We imagine that once God speaks, the journey should become easier. But often, the path to destiny includes seasons that look like the complete opposite of the promise. Joseph dreamed of leadership, yet he was thrown into a pit by his own brothers. From there, he was sold into slavery and later imprisoned. Nothing about his circumstances looked like destiny. But the pit was not the end—it was part of the process.
📖 Scripture Reading:
- Genesis 37:23–28 — Joseph thrown into the pit
- Psalm 105:17–19 — Until what he said came to pass
- James 1:2–4 — Trials produce maturity
💧 Refreshing for the Day:
So, beloved, sometimes God allows the pit before the palace because character must be built before elevation can be trusted. Humility, endurance, wisdom, and dependence on God are often formed in hidden and painful places. The pit does not cancel the promise.
It prepares you for it. What looks like delay may actually be divine training. The pit is often preparation for the palace. Stay Refreshed!
✨ Note This:
🕳️ Your current season may not look like destiny, but it may be shaping you for it.
🛡️ Responsibility:
Do not despise difficult seasons—ask God what He is building in you through them.
🙏 Prayer:
Father, help me trust You in seasons that feel like the pit. Strengthen my heart and remind me that You are preparing me for what You have promised. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
🔥 Prophetic Declaration:
Every difficult season in my life is preparing me for destiny. The pit is not my end—it is part of God’s process. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
