When Hunger Becomes Greater Than Comfort

Times Of Refreshing Daily Devotional

Date: Monday, 18 May 2026

Topic: The Upper Room Generation (2)

Focus: When Hunger Becomes Greater Than Comfort

🔥Theme:

Tarrying, prayer, unity, and fresh Pentecost fire

📖 Key Verse:
“They all joined together constantly in prayer…”Acts 1:14

Devotional:

Revival begins when hunger becomes stronger than comfort. The disciples in the Upper Room could have returned to normal life after Jesus ascended. Instead, they gathered with one desire—to seek God until the promise came. Hungry hearts are never satisfied with shallow encounters. Comfort says, “This is enough.” Hunger says, “There must be more of God.” Many people want revival, but few are willing to leave comfort behind to pursue God deeply.

📖 Scripture Reading:

  • Matthew 5:6 — Hunger and thirst for righteousness
  • Psalm 42:1–2 — Thirsting for God
  • Jeremiah 29:13 — Seeking God wholeheartedly

💧 Refreshing for the Day:

Hunger will push you into prayer when others are sleeping. Hunger will keep you seeking when answers delay. Hunger refuses to settle for routine religion. The Upper Room was filled with people who desired God more than convenience. And heaven responds to hungry hearts. God fills what is empty enough to long for Him. Spiritual hunger creates room for fresh encounters with God. Stay Refreshed!

Note This:

🔥 Revival begins where comfort ends and hunger begins.

🛡️ Responsibility:

Choose pursuit over comfort today—spend time seeking God intentionally beyond routine.

🙏 Prayer:

Father, awaken fresh hunger in my heart. Remove spiritual complacency and draw me into deeper pursuit of Your presence. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

🔥 Prophetic Declaration:

My heart burns with hunger for God. I will not settle for shallow faith—I am pursuing deeper fire and deeper intimacy. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
