When God Refuses to Fit Inside Your Understanding
Times Of Refreshing Daily Devotional
Date: Friday, 3 April 2026
Topic: When God Offends Your Expectations (6)
Focus: When God Refuses to Fit Inside Your Understanding
🔥Theme:
Sometimes the hardest moments in faith are not when God is absent—but when He does something we did not expect. He delays when we thought He would act. He allows what we thought He would prevent. He answers differently than we prayed. These moments can quietly shake our expectations of who God is and how He works. This series explores the tension between expectation and reality—where disappointment meets faith, and where trust must grow deeper than understanding.
📖 Key Verse:
“Blessed is anyone who does not stumble on account of me.” — Matthew 11:6
Devotional:
One of the deepest tensions in faith happens when God refuses to make sense. We naturally want explanations. We want to understand why things happened, why prayers were answered differently, or why God allowed certain paths in our lives. But sometimes God does not give explanations—He gives Himself. Job experienced this deeply. After all his suffering, Job demanded answers. Yet when God finally spoke, He did not explain every event. Instead, He revealed His greatness, His wisdom, and His sovereignty. In that moment, Job realized something powerful: God was bigger than the questions he carried.
📖 Scripture Reading:
- Job 38:1–4 — God speaks to Job
- Isaiah 55:8–9 — God’s thoughts higher than ours
- Romans 11:33 — The depth of God’s wisdom
💧 Refreshing for the Day:
So, beloved, faith matures when we accept that God cannot always be explained. You may not understand everything God does. But you can trust who He is. When God does not fit inside your understanding, it is because His wisdom is greater than your perspective. God’s wisdom goes beyond what the human mind can fully grasp. Stay Refreshed!
✨ Note This:
🌌 God does not need to fit your understanding to remain faithful.
🛡️ Responsibility:
Choose today to trust God even in areas where you do not have answers.
🙏 Prayer:
Father, when I cannot understand what You are doing, help me trust Your wisdom. Strengthen my faith and remind me that You are always working for good. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
🔥 Prophetic Declaration:
I trust God beyond my understanding. His wisdom guides my life, and His purpose will stand. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
