When God Breaks Your Confidence in Yourself
Times Of Refreshing Daily Devotional
Date: Tuesday, 14 April 2026
Topic: When God Breaks What You Built (3)
Focus: When God Breaks Your Confidence in Yourself
🔥Theme:
Trusting God when what you worked hard to build suddenly collapses.
📖 Key Verse:
Key Verse: “Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain.” — Psalm 127:1
Devotional:
There are moments when God allows situations that shake our confidence in ourselves. Things we once felt capable of handling suddenly become overwhelming. Strength we relied on feels insufficient. At first, this can feel discouraging. But sometimes God allows our confidence in ourselves to break so our confidence in Him can grow. Peter believed he was strong enough to stand by Jesus no matter what happened. Yet in a moment of pressure, he denied Him three times. That painful moment broke Peter’s confidence in his own strength—but it prepared him to depend fully on God’s power.
📖 Scripture Reading:
- 2 Corinthians 12:9 — God’s power in weakness
- John 15:5 — Apart from God we can do nothing
- Proverbs 3:5 — Trusting God beyond ourselves
💧 Refreshing for the Day:
So, beloved, God is not trying to embarrass you. He is teaching you where real strength comes from. When confidence in self fades, reliance on God becomes clearer. And that is where true strength is found. God sometimes weakens self-reliance to strengthen dependence on Him. Stay Refreshed!
✨ Note This:
💡 When self-confidence breaks, God-confidence begins.
🛡️ Responsibility:
Lean on God today instead of relying solely on your own strength.
🙏 Prayer:
Father, help me place my confidence fully in You. When my own strength feels insufficient, remind me that Your power is greater. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
🔥 Prophetic Declaration:
My confidence is in God, not in myself. His strength sustains me, and His power works through my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
