WHAT YOU CONSUME, IMPACTS YOUR MIND
TIMES OF REFRESHING ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL
DATE: TUESDAY 23 FEBRUARY 2021
It’s easy to be anxious and worried why we behave in a certain manner. We’re easily lured into the kind of life style we didn’t bargain for. It seems as if we are manipulated. And we’re worried, we wonder: what went wrong? This is not the kind of life we are caught out to live. It’s because what we consume impacts our mind. Everything we place into our body has an effect on it—either positive or negative. What we consume always determines the lives that we live.
This is a truth that rings true with almost everything we choose to consume: it doesn’t only apply to what we eat. But also, the kind of books we read, the genre of music we listen to, (Mk 4:24), what we watch (television), (Matt 6:22), what we surf online (websites), (Psm 101:3), just to name a few.
SCRIPTURE:
…whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things, (Philippians 4:8) NASB
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY:
What you consume, impacts your mind. And what impacts your mind, controls your life.
Beloved, if there is anything you should be careful with, it should be what you consume. What you consume doesn’t just impacts your mind, it also speaks volume in your life. If it can affect your life, then it is capable of controlling your future and generation. If it’s so, then we can also use this truth to our advantage and use it to bring about the positive changes we desire to make in our lives.
Do you want to live life in the spirit and grow spiritually? Intentionally dwell steadily in the Word of God. Consume books, talks and messages that will encourage you to do so. Are you trying to become a better parent or spouse? Surround yourself with people who are trying to accomplish the same. Are you trying to become more successful in a specific line of career or business? Absorb as much as you can about the topic.
In conclusion, it is wise for us to pause often and review the influences of what we allow into our mind. For what we choose to consume determines the direction of our lives. Stay Refreshed!
