UNDERSTANDING THE WISDOM OF TIME

TIMES OF REFRESHING

ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL by Obiorah Prince Emeka

DATE: SUNDAY 22 NOVEMBER 2020

The word time comes from an Ancient Greek term “Kairos” translated as the “right time” or “the appointed time in the purpose of God”. Every person has a divine purpose and God’s promises for his life. And each purpose and promises has an appointed unique time for its manifestation. Until the right time for every purpose or promise is come, it will never be manifested.

There is a relationship between God’s perfect time for every purpose and promises and its manifestations. So, in between the period every purpose is discovered and its manifestation time lies “the waiting or incubating period”. The wisdom we applied in the formation period to accomplish our purpose is as important as fulfilling the purpose.

SCRIPTURE:

…At the right time, I, the LORD, will make it happen. (Isaiah 60:22) KJV

REFRESHING FOR THE DAY:

God’s silence in your waiting season does not mean He’s absence.

Many Christians often feel discouraged and stuck in seasons of waiting for their manifestation to happen. They become impatient with God. They allowed pressure of life led them to disobedience.

Looking at king Saul in 1 Samuel 13; God sent a priest to him to perform a ritual before the battle. Saul was under pressure from the approaching Philistines, and he became impatient with God’s timing.  He felt that time was running out, he took matters into his own hands and disobeyed God.

Rather than waiting for a priest, he offered the sacrifice himself. This was against God’s laws and instructions. (Deut. 12:5-14, 1 Samuel 10:8). Though, he was doing a good thing (offering a sacrifice to God before a crucial battle), but he did it in the wrong way. And he lost his throne,

Beloved, unlike Saul, when you are faced with difficult decision, don’t allow impatience to drive you to disobey God. God often uses delay to test our obedience and patience. I don’t know what you are trusting God for, but I counsel you; build your trust in God, have faith in Him and be patient with Him. I promise you at the right time, He will fulfil all His promises to you, manifest your purpose and establish you. Stay Lifted!

NOTE THIS:

God’s silence in your waiting season does not mean He’s absence.

RESPONSIBILITY:

Build your trust in God, have faith in Him.

PRAYER:

O LORD, give me the grace to understand your time, and cause me to be patient as I wait for your manifestation in my life, in the name of Jesus’ Amen! (Go ahead and continue to pray)

PROPHETIC WORD:

In God’s perfect time, He will manifest your purpose and establish your destiny, in the name of Jesus, Amen.

BIBLE TEXTS: Isaiah 60:22, Deut. 12:5-14, 1 Samuel 13.
