UNDERSTANDING SPIRITUAL SENSITIVITY (2)
TIMES OF REFRESHING ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org
DATE: THURSDAY, 24 JUNE 2021
Yesterday as God helped us, we established the fact that life is spiritual. And it’s true. We also learnt that if we must excel in every sphere of life; we must be spiritually sensitive. Now having understood the important of being spiritually sensitive as a Christian, and the consequences if we’re not; today we shall examine what it entails for one to be sensitive in the spirit and how one can attain this feat.
SCRIPTURE: … but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. (Romans 8:5) ESV
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: Living and attaining the life of the spirit starts with submission to the Holy Spirit, for it’s said what you submit to rules you.
If life is spiritual, it then means that the spiritual controls the physical. That also means that nothing will happen in the physical without first being revealed in the spiritual. So, for a Christian to be spiritually sensitive, he or she must be totally submitted and completely yielded to the person of the Holy Spirit (James 4:7, Rom 8:6). This is true and can only be achieved by we humbling ourselves (James 4:6,10) and being obedient to God (1 Peter 1:2, John 3:30).
Beloved, submission starts with Humility (a state of becoming simple and lowly in mind to exalt God within). If we can humble ourselves the way Jesus did in Philippians 2:4-7 it will be easy living up to the expectation of the Holy Spirit—thereby becoming spiritually sensitive. Stay Lifted!
NOTE THIS: Living and attaining the life of the spirit starts with submission to the Holy Spirit, for it’s said what you submit to rules you.
RESPONSIBILITY: Consciously make efforts to submit totally to the person of the Holy Spirit, while living the life of the spirit.
PRAYER: O HOLY SPIRIT, give me the grace to submit daily to You, in the name of Jesus’ Amen! (Go ahead and continue to pray)
PROPHETIC WORD: May you find strength to submit to the Holy Spirit and be obedient to God in all your ways, in the name of Jesus, Amen.
