The Sound of My Cry (5)
Times Of Refreshing Daily Devotional
Date: Thursday, 14 August 2025
Topic: The Sound of My Cry (5)
Focus: The Cry That Births Breakthrough
🔥 Message:
There is a kind of prayer that goes beyond words, beyond form, beyond ritual. It’s the deep groan of the heart, the yearning of the soul, the melody of desperation and devotion that rises to the throne of God. This is the sound Heaven cannot ignore—the sound of a child crying out to their Father. Like Hannah in the temple (1 Samuel 1:15), like David in the wilderness (Psalm 61:1–2), and like Jesus in Gethsemane (Luke 22:44), there are moments when prayer is no longer a duty—it’s an overflow of longing, pain, hope, and love.
This series will take you on a 7-day journey to rediscover raw, unfiltered prayer—a prayer that comes from the depths and touches Heaven’s heart.
📖 Key Verse:
Psalm 61:1–2 (NIV) — “Hear my cry, O God; listen to my prayer. From the ends of the earth I call to You, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I.”
Devotional:
Some breakthroughs don’t come by casual prayer—they come through travailing prayer. It’s the kind of cry that refuses to let go until Heaven answers. Jacob understood this when he wrestled with the angel: “I will not let You go unless You bless me.” —Genesis 32:26 This was no polite request—it was a desperate, relentless cry for change. That night, Jacob’s name, identity, and destiny shifted because he refused to stop crying out. Breakthrough cries are persistent. They don’t accept delay as denial. Like Elijah praying for rain in 1 Kings 18, they keep pressing, keep declaring, keep calling until the clouds gather and the answer comes.
📖 Scripture Reading:
Genesis 32:26 – “I will not let You go unless You bless me.”
1 Kings 18:42–45 – Elijah prays until the rain comes.
Luke 18:1–8 – The parable of the persistent widow.
💧 Refreshing for the Day:
So, beloved, when you cry with that kind of persistence, you are not trying to convince God to care—you are aligning yourself with His will and refusing to settle for less than what He promised. Persistence in prayer is the bridge between promise and manifestation. Stay Refreshed!
✨ Note This:
The cry that won’t stop is often the cry that breaks through.
🛡️ Responsibility:
✅ Identify one promise from God you’ve been waiting on. Set aside intentional time today to pray over it persistently, refusing to give up until you see the answer.
🙏 Prayer:
Lord, give me the strength to keep crying out until the breakthrough comes. I stand on Your promises and refuse to let go until I see Your Word fulfilled in my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
🔥 Prophetic Declaration:
My cry will break through every barrier! Delay is defeated, and my answer is manifesting in Jesus’ name. Amen!
