The Sound of My Cry (4)
Times Of Refreshing Daily Devotional
Date: Wednesday, 13 August 2025
Topic: The Sound of My Cry (4)
Focus: When Your Cry Becomes Worship
🔥 Message:
There is a kind of prayer that goes beyond words, beyond form, beyond ritual. It’s the deep groan of the heart, the yearning of the soul, the melody of desperation and devotion that rises to the throne of God. This is the sound Heaven cannot ignore—the sound of a child crying out to their Father. Like Hannah in the temple (1 Samuel 1:15), like David in the wilderness (Psalm 61:1–2), and like Jesus in Gethsemane (Luke 22:44), there are moments when prayer is no longer a duty—it’s an overflow of longing, pain, hope, and love.
This series will take you on a 7-day journey to rediscover raw, unfiltered prayer—a prayer that comes from the depths and touches Heaven’s heart.
📖 Key Verse:
Psalm 61:1–2 (NIV) — “Hear my cry, O God; listen to my prayer. From the ends of the earth I call to You, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I.”
Devotional:
Not every cry is born out of pain—some cries are birthed from awe, gratitude, and love. This is when your cry becomes more than a request—it becomes worship. David knew this well: “I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised; so shall I be saved from my enemies.” —Psalm 18:3 Even in distress, David’s cry often turned into songs of adoration. He didn’t wait until the battle was over to worship—he worshiped in the middle of the fight. His cry was both a plea for help and a declaration of God’s greatness.
📖 Scripture Reading:
Psalm 18:3 – “I will call upon the Lord…”
Acts 16:25–26 – Paul and Silas pray and sing hymns in prison.
2 Chronicles 20:22 – Praise causes the enemy to be defeated.
💧 Refreshing for the Day:
True worship shifts your focus. When your eyes are on God’s majesty instead of your mountain, faith rises. When your heart magnifies His power instead of your problem, the atmosphere changes. When your cry becomes worship, you are no longer just asking for help—you are enthroning God over your situation. And when He is enthroned, victory is certain. Your cry can be your song, and your song can be your victory. Stay Refreshed!
✨ Note This:
Worship in the middle of the battle is a prophetic act of faith.
🛡️ Responsibility:
✅ Take one need in your life today and instead of only asking God to fix it, spend time praising Him for who He is in the midst of it.
🙏 Prayer:
Lord, I choose to worship You in the middle of my situation. Be enthroned over my life, my battles, and my heart. Let my cry today rise as a song that honors You. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
🔥 Prophetic Declaration:
My cry is my worship! As I lift my voice in praise, Heaven moves, and victory manifests in my life. Alleluia!
📖 Bible Texts:
Psalm 61:1-2; 18:3, Acts 16:25–26, 2 Chr 20:22
