TAKE A STOCK OF YOUR LIFE
TIMES OF REFRESHING ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org
DATE: WEDNESDAY, 22 DECEMBER 2021
It is wise once in a long period of our life, we stop, look into ourselves and prayerfully take a stock of our life. At the beginning of the year, we all made certain resolutions. We resolved to do this, do that and achieve this and that. So, it won’t be out of place as the year is coming to a close, for us to go back to the drawing board, assess our lives wholistically and produce a success score card.
SCRIPTURE: Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ and be found in him… (Phil 3:8,9) ESV
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: Beloved, from our anchor Scripture, the apostle Paul turned his focus inward to take stock of his life. Of all he’s done with his life, he wants to decide what counts and what doesn’t. So, Paul ultimately decided that the only thing in life that counts – the only thing that makes life worth living is – “Life in Christ Jesus.” Ultimately, the conclusions Paul reached and the qualities he enumerated offer some important insights in helping us assess our definitions of success and our motives for achieving it. Stay Lifted!
NOTE THIS: Taking a stock of our life is an attempt to determine what’s important, and what isn’t, and make amendments.
RESPONSIBILITY: Pray for the courage to take an honest assessment of your life, and for the wisdom to see the areas that need the touch of the Savior.
PRAYER: O LORD, help me to take an honest assessment of life and give me the wisdom to see the areas that need Your touch, in the name of Jesus’ Amen! (Go ahead and continue to pray)
PROPHETIC WORD: As you take a stock of your life, may it produce useful results in your life, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
BIBLE TEXTS: Phil 3:7-14
