It has been established that taking a stock of our life is an attempt to determine what’s important, and what isn’t, and make amendments. So yesterday, we began to look at Paul’s personal life assessment in Phil 3:7-14, and now we shall be considering certain yardsticks for taking a stock of our life.
SCRIPTURE: Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord… (Phil 3:8) ESV
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: Beloved, for us to take an honest and sincere assessment of our life, we need to attempt these simple and direct questions; What has been your ultimate priority in life? What are your goals in life? Is your goal like that of Paul – “a die-hard lover of Jesus”? What is the definition of success to you? All the plans and the efforts you put up so far to achieve success; did they pay you off? Where and on what did you invest your money, time and energy? Are you so proud that you did those things?
Just take your time, go into your heart now, begin to count realities. Is the year actually successful for you? Considering your priorities and goals, if you are given another chance to make the year better, do you have a sure way to make it better? If you would like to change some things, what are the things you may likely change? And finally, where is the place of Jesus in your life? Stay Lifted!
NOTE THIS: If Christ is not at the center of your plans in life, no matter what you do, it will never make sense.
RESPONSIBILITY: Pray for the courage to take an honest assessment of your life, and for the wisdom to see the areas that need the touch of the Savior.
PRAYER: O LORD, help me to take an honest assessment of life and give me the wisdom to see the areas that need Your touch, in the name of Jesus’ Amen! (Go ahead and continue to pray)
PROPHETIC WORD: As you take a stock of your life, may it produce useful results in your life, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
