The Pages You Would Have Torn Out

Times Of Refreshing Daily Devotional

Date: Wednesday, 24 June 2026

Topic: The Chapter God Didn’t Skip (4)

Focus: The Pages You Would Have Torn Out

🔥Theme:

Why certain painful seasons were necessary.

📖 Key Verse:
“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” — Romans 8:28

Devotional:

If you could edit your life story, there are probably pages you would remove. The betrayal. The failure. The heartbreak. The disappointment. The rejection. The season you prayed against. The chapter that made no sense. We all have pages we wish had never been written. If Joseph had been given the opportunity, he may have torn out the pages about the pit and the prison. If David could choose, perhaps he would remove the years of running from Saul. If Naomi could rewrite her story, she might have erased Moab, famine, and loss. Yet God left those pages exactly where they were. Why? Because some pages that wound us also shape us.

📖 Scripture Reading:

  • Genesis 50:20 — You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good.
  • Romans 8:28 — All things work together for good.
  • Psalm 119:67 — Before I was afflicted I went astray.

💧 Refreshing for the Day:

Some chapters that hurt us also humble us. Some experiences that break us also prepare us. The pages we would remove often contain: the lessons that matured us, the faith that strengthened us, the prayers that transformed us, the dependence that brought us closer to God. Without those pages, the story would be easier. But it would not be the same. There are things comfort cannot teach. There are revelations prosperity cannot produce. There are depths of God that are only discovered in difficult chapters. The pages you would have torn out may contain some of God’s greatest work in your life. Do not despise the pages that hurt. One day, you may discover that they explain the beauty of the chapters that followed. Stay Refreshed!

Note This:

📖 The pages you wanted to tear out may become the pages that hold your greatest testimony.

🛡️ Responsibility:

Revisit a difficult chapter from your past and ask God what He was writing in your life during that season.

🙏 Prayer:

Father, help me trust You with the pages I do not understand. Thank You that You never waste pain, disappointment, or loss. Teach me to see Your hand even in the chapters I would have removed. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

🔥 Prophetic Declaration:

Every page of my story is in God’s hands. The painful chapters are not wasted, and the difficult pages are working together for His purpose. My testimony is still being written. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
