The Oil of Intimacy (7)
Times Of Refreshing Daily Devotional
Date: Saturday, 19 July 2025
Topic: The Oil of Intimacy (7)
Focus: Keep the Flame Burning
🔥 Message:
In the parable of the ten virgins, all had lamps—but only five had extra oil. When the cry rang out, “The Bridegroom is coming!”, it wasn’t enough to just look ready. The wise were those who had cultivated a lifestyle of intimacy, preparation, and extra devotion.
This series is a call to live like the wise virgins. To go beyond surface-level faith and carry the secret oil of deep communion with Jesus.
📖 Key Verse:
Matthew 25:4 – “The wise took oil in jars along with their lamps.”
Devotional:
The parable of the ten virgins ends, but the call continues: “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour.” (Matthew 25:13) The journey of intimacy doesn’t end at preparation—it flows into perseverance. Many start with passion, but few remain with fire. True intimacy is not a one-time encounter—it’s a lifestyle of constant pursuit. Oil must be replenished. Flames must be tended. The fire on the altar must never go out. (Leviticus 6:13) And this can only happen when our love for Jesus is more than emotion—it becomes a holy obsession.
📖 Scripture Reading:
Matthew 25:13 – “Keep watch…”
Leviticus 6:13 – “The fire must be kept burning on the altar continuously…”
Revelation 2:4–5 – “You have forsaken your first love… Return.”
💧 Refreshing for the Day:
The wise virgins didn’t just bring oil—they guarded it. They lived in readiness, not fearfully, but faithfully. Beloved, you were not made for spiritual burnout. You were made to burn consistently, intimately, and brightly until the Bridegroom comes. So don’t let the fire die down. Keep your altar alive. Keep the oil flowing. The Bridegroom is near. Don’t just carry a flame—tend it daily. Intimacy requires maintenance. Stay Refreshed!
✨ Note This:
Starting is good. Staying on fire is better.
🛡️ Responsibility:
✅ Identify one daily habit you can implement to protect your intimacy with Jesus—whether it’s morning prayer, worship, journaling, or meditating on a verse. Guard it like treasure.
🙏 Prayer:
Jesus, I want to burn for You—not for a moment, but for a lifetime. Keep my heart tender. Keep my oil fresh. Let my altar stay lit until the day I see You face to face. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
🔥 Prophetic Declaration:
I will burn until the end! My flame will not go out. I am filled with fresh oil and unrelenting hunger. I watch, I wait, I worship—and I am ready for the Bridegroom’s return! Alleluia!
