The Oil of Intimacy (6)

Times Of Refreshing Daily Devotional

Date: Friday, 18 July 2025

Topic: The Oil of Intimacy (6)

Focus: Shut In or Shut Out

🔥 Message:

In the parable of the ten virgins, all had lamps—but only five had extra oil. When the cry rang out, “The Bridegroom is coming!”, it wasn’t enough to just look ready. The wise were those who had cultivated a lifestyle of intimacy, preparation, and extra devotion.

This series is a call to live like the wise virgins. To go beyond surface-level faith and carry the secret oil of deep communion with Jesus.

📖 Key Verse:

Matthew 25:4 – “The wise took oil in jars along with their lamps.”

Devotional:
“The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut.” (Matthew 25:10). These are some of the most sobering words Jesus ever spoke: “And the door was shut.” The wise virgins entered into the joy of the Bridegroom because they were ready. The foolish, though they came later crying, “Lord, Lord, open the door for us!” were met with silence—and finality. The door represents access. It opens to those who have walked in intimacy and preparation. It shuts to those who delayed, coasted, or ignored the urgency of the hour.

📖 Scripture Reading:
Matthew 25:10–12 – “And the door was shut…”
Luke 13:24–25 – “Once the master of the house gets up and closes the door…”
2 Corinthians 6:2 – “Now is the day of salvation.”

💧 Refreshing for the Day:
This is not about legalism or fear—it’s about love and readiness. Jesus desires a Bride who longs for Him, who stays awake in devotion, and who carries oil in her vessel. So, beloved, you can’t enter in at the last moment without oil stored in secret. When the door opens, will you be found filled or fumbling? The wise don’t wait to prepare—they live ready. There comes a time when the door closes. Don’t wait to start preparing—live ready now. Stay Refreshed!

Note This:
Love responds in time. Delay can cost everything.

🛡️ Responsibility:
✅ Examine your priorities today. What are you putting off spiritually that God has been asking you to do? Obey quickly. Return fully. Keep oil in your lamp.

🙏 Prayer:
Lord, awaken me to the urgency of this hour. Let me not delay in my devotion or hesitate in my obedience. Keep me shut in with You—until the day the door opens for Your return. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

🔥 Prophetic Declaration:
I will not be left outside—I live ready! I walk with oil in my vessel and love in my heart. When the door opens, I will enter in. I am shut in with God now, so I won’t be shut out then! Alleluia!

📖 Bible Texts:
