The Oil of Intimacy (3)

Times Of Refreshing Daily Devotional

Date: Tuesday, 15 July 2025

Topic: The Oil of Intimacy (3)

Focus: When the Delay Comes

🔥 Message:

In the parable of the ten virgins, all had lamps—but only five had extra oil. When the cry rang out, “The Bridegroom is coming!”, it wasn’t enough to just look ready. The wise were those who had cultivated a lifestyle of intimacy, preparation, and extra devotion.

This series is a call to live like the wise virgins. To go beyond surface-level faith and carry the secret oil of deep communion with Jesus.

📖 Key Verse:

Matthew 25:4 – “The wise took oil in jars along with their lamps.”

Devotional:
The parable says, “The bridegroom was a long time in coming, and they all became drowsy and fell asleep.” (Matthew 25:5) Delay is part of the journey. Every believer will face it—the waiting, the silence, the unanswered prayers. And in the delay, what’s hidden is revealed. The foolish virgins carried just enough oil for now, but not enough for later. The wise carried extra oil—intimacy stored up through consistency, not just crisis. Delay doesn’t destroy the prepared. It exposes the unrooted.

📖 Scripture Reading:
Matthew 25:5 – “The bridegroom was a long time in coming…”
Habakkuk 2:3 – “Though it linger, wait for it…”
Luke 21:19 – “By your endurance you will gain your souls.”

💧 Refreshing for the Day:
Many fall away during the delay—not because they didn’t start well, but because they didn’t stay filled. But those who burn for Him in the waiting will be ready when He comes. Delay isn’t denial. It’s divine preparation. Let the waiting drive you deeper, not drier. This is the time to press in, to keep the flame alive, and to hold your lamp close. Delay is not wasted time—it’s proving time. Stay Refreshed!

Note This:
What you do in the delay determines what you’ll have in the moment of destiny.

🛡️ Responsibility:
✅ Reflect on one area where you’re facing delay. Instead of frustration, turn it into fuel. Pray: “Lord, teach me to wait with oil, not just emotion.”

🙏 Prayer:
Lord, help me not to grow weary in the wait. Let the delay drive me to deeper intimacy. Fill me with the oil that endures. I choose to wait well, worship deep, and keep my flame alive. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

🔥 Prophetic Declaration:
Even in the delay, I carry oil! I am not growing cold—I’m growing deeper. My flame will not go out. I will be found burning when the Bridegroom comes! Alleluia!
