THE NECESSITY OF DELIGHTING YOURSELF IN THE LORD

TIMES OF REFRESHING ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org

DATE: TUESDAY, 7 SEPTEMBER 2021

Yesterday we began to say that one of the guaranteed things we must do to have God swiftly attend to our prayers and give us the desires of our hearts is to delight ourselves in the Lord (Psalm 37:4). We also said that having access to the desires of our heart and taking delivery of them is a function of an unwavering delight in the Lord. Today, we shall be looking at the necessity of delighting ourselves in the Lord.

SCRIPTURE: Then you shall take delight in the LORD, and I will make you ride on the heights of the earth; I will feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father, for the mouth of the LORD has spoken. (Isaiah 58:14) ESV

REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: Beloved, God does not give us ‘just any’ desire of our heart; He gives us the desires of our heart that’s conforming to His Will in our lives. The reason people struggle in life is owed to the fact that they’re yet to delight themselves in the Lord. We breathe wrong desires; and God will never give us the wrong desires of our hearts. So, while we want God to give us our heart’s desires, God first wants to form His desires in our hearts to soothe His plans for us, and to bring out the best in us.

We should also note that, what we delight in is what forms our desires. Then the big question is, what are you delighting in? Stay Lifted!

NOTE THIS: God does not give us ‘just any’ desire of our heart; He gives us the desires of our heart that’s conforming to His Will in our lives.

RESPONSIBILITY: Make it a point of duty to unceasingly commit to delight in the Lord all the days of your life.

PRAYER: O LORD, help my life. Give me the grace to unceasing delight in You all the days of my life, in the name of Jesus’ Amen! (Go ahead and continue to pray)

PROPHETIC WORD: As you continuously delight in the Lord, may He never abandon you nor disappoint you, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!

BIBLE TEXTS: Isaiah 58:14, Ps 37:4
