STAYING PURE IN A CONTAMINATING WORLD
TIMES OF REFRESHING
ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL by Obiorah Prince Emeka
DATE: THURSDAY 15 OCTOBER 2020
In today’s world, Christians are drowning in a sea of too many distractions, extending to corrupt practices, sexual images and sinful attractions. In our offices, we are faced with ill practices to induce and plunge one into subornation; businesses are littered with tricks of the devil that convinces one to believe in “no cheat, no gain” strategy.
Everywhere we look, especially on social medias, we find temptation to fill our minds with thoughts of sexual relationships that God wouldn’t approve. The question is “how do we stay pure in a contaminating environment?”
SCRIPTURE:
How can a young person stay pure? By obeying your word, (Psalm 119:9) NLT
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY:
To stay pure in a contaminating environment is a product of obedience to God’s word.
HOW CAN ONE STAY PURE IN A CONTAMINATING WORLD?
1. Total surrender to the Lordship of Christ, (Romans 6:11-13).
2. Complete reliance and absolute submission to the power of the Holy Spirit, (Galatians 5:6).
3. Watch and Pray: Be vigilance and diligence in prayer, (Matthew 26:41).
4. Consciously renew your mind daily by meditating and obeying God’s word, (Romans 12:1-2).
Beloved, it is obvious that the world is prevalent in contaminating and corrupting human minds and hearts. But it takes conviction and courage, finding strength and wisdom from God’s word to overcome the world, (1 John 4:4). Stay Lifted!
