SPEAKING OUT YOUR WORRIES IN PRAYER (2)

TIMES OF REFRESHING DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org

DATE: FRIDAY, 6 SEPTEMBER 2024

It’s easy to try to manage our concerns in silence, hoping they will fade or somehow resolve themselves. We can even find ourselves embarrassed to admit what troubles us, thinking that they may be too small or insignificant for God to care. But God is not waiting for us to have perfect words or perfect faith. He just wants us to come as we are—uncertain, afraid, and maybe even confused. Speaking out our worries in prayer is not about having it all together; it’s about acknowledging that we don’t, and that we need God’s help.

SCRIPTURE: “Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” — 1 Peter 5:7 (NIV)

REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: When we speak our worries aloud to God, something powerful happens. The act of verbalizing what troubles us gives shape to the chaos in our minds, helping us process our fears and anxieties. It’s like turning a swirling storm into something that can be named and understood. And when we do this in prayer, we’re reminded that God is there in the middle of it all, listening and ready to offer peace in exchange for our worries. Stay Refreshed!

NOTE THIS: Speaking out our worries in prayer is not about having it all together; it’s about acknowledging that we don’t, and that we need God’s help.

RESPONSIBILITY: So, beloved, when worries weigh heavily on your heart, remember that you don’t have to carry them alone. God invites you to release them to Him, knowing that He cares deeply for every detail of your life. Take a moment to breathe, to speak your concerns aloud in prayer, and trust that God is already at work.

PRAYER: Dear Heavenly Father, I cast my worries onto You, knowing You care deeply for me. Help me to trust You with every fear and every burden. Fill me with Your peace, and remind me that You are always near, guiding and protecting me. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.

PROPHETIC WORD: As you speak out your worries to God in prayer, may He answer you and lift your burdens and give you peace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

BIBLE TEXTS: 1 Peter 5:7, Philippians 4:6
