RISE UP FROM THE DUST

TIMES OF REFRESHING ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL

DATE: FRIDAY 12 MARCH 2021

It’s easy to believe that whenever things are no going well for us, is caused by the mistakes we had made or the sins we committed in the past. The Scripture says in (2 Corinthians 5:17), “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come”. Circumstances may try to remind you of your sins; people will try to stick labels of your past on you, and echo of all the times you failed. But the good news is, God doesn’t keep records of our sin.

The moment you genuinely confessed your sins and ask God to forgive you, He forgave you. Not only that, He doesn’t remember your sins nor your mistakes, (Hebrew 8:12). Why don’t you quit remembering what God has forgotten? The past is filled with dirt and dust, so rise up from the dust!

SCRIPTURE: Shake off your dust; rise up, sit enthroned, Jerusalem. Free yourself from the chains on your neck, Daughter Zion, now a captive, (Isaiah 52:2) NIV

REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: That sin is not who you are, it’s what you did, it didn’t cancel your destiny and wouldn’t stop God’s plan for your life.

Beloved, you may have failed, but you are not a failure. You may have made mistakes but you have to learn to forgive yourself. You may have counted yourself out – God has already counted you in. He chose you before you could choose Him. So, quit beating yourself up over what didn’t work out. You can’t change what’s behind you, but you can do something about what’s in front of you.

God’s mercy is bigger than any mistake that you’ve made, He can still get you to where you’re supposed to be, but you have to do something important – forgive yourself, and rise up from the dust! Stay Lifted!

NOTE THIS: That sin is not who you are, it’s what you did, it didn’t cancel your destiny and wouldn’t stop God’s plan for your life.

RESPONSIBILITY: Forgive yourself, take off the old label of sin, accept and put on the new label of life in Christ Jesus.

PRAYER:  O LORD, help me to take away every negative label in my life, and decorate me with new life in Christ, in the name of Jesus’ Amen! (Go ahead and continue to pray)

PROPHETIC WORD: I speak into your life, no matter how ugly your past is, you must fulfil your life and destiny, in the name of Jesus, Amen.

BIBLE TEXTS: Isa. 52:2, 2 Cor. 5:17, Heb. 8:12
