PREPARING FOR EASTER: EMBRACING THE HOPE OF REDEMPTION (2)

TIMES OF REFRESHING ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org

DATE: THURSDAY, 28 MARCH 2024

So, the story of Easter begins with the agony of the cross—a symbol of suffering and shame. But it doesn’t end there. Through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, God reveals His power to overcome sin, break the chains of bondage, and bring new life to all who believe.

SCRIPTURE: “We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.” — Romans 6:4 (NIV)

REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: Therefore, beloved, as we reflect on the hope of redemption this Easter, let us entrust our brokenness to God’s care. Let us lay our burdens at the foot of the cross, knowing that Jesus bore them all for us. And let us embrace the promise of resurrection—the assurance that God is able to bring beauty from ashes and hope from despair. Stay Refreshed!

NOTE THIS: As we prepare for Easter, we anticipate the joy of celebrating Jesus’ resurrection and the hope it brings for redemption and new life.

RESPONSIBILITY: So, beloved, let us use this season as an opportunity for introspection and self-examination. Reflect on areas of our lives where we may need to surrender to God’s grace, seek forgiveness, or reconcile with others. Allow the Holy Spirit to reveal any hindrances to experiencing the fullness of redemption in our lives.

PRAYER: O LORD, thank You for the hope of redemption that we find in Jesus Christ. As we reflect on His resurrection this Easter, renew us by Your Spirit, and fill us with the joy of Your salvation. In the name of Jesus, we pray, Amen!

PROPHETIC WORD: May this Easter be a time of renewal and restoration, as we experience afresh the power of God’s redeeming love. And may our lives bear witness to His transforming grace, as we live each day in the light of His resurrection. In the name of Jesus, Amen!

BIBLE TEXTS: Romans 6:4, Isaiah 63:1-13
