PEACE NOT FEAR
TIMES OF REFRESHING
ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL by Obiorah Prince Emeka
DATE: FRIDAY 18 DECEMBER 2020
We live in a world full of fear. There is always one thing or another to be afraid of. The television, social media and newspaper headlines are bombarded with scary incidents; extending to the rumor of another lock down phase due to the pandemic, terrorists attacks, banditry and uncertainties.
But in all these beloved, the Word of God is saying to you, “PEACE NOT FEAR”.
SCRIPTURE:
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid, (John 14:27) NIV
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY:
The presence of fear in a person’s life is a function of doubt to the Word of God.
Fear is living in disbelief and one’s distrust to God’s promises and power over his life. As Christians, we ought to be bold and fearless. For God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind, (2 Tim. 1:7). I can hear the voice of the Lord saying to you; “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze”, (Isaiah 43:2).
If the life’s circumstances and situations show you many reasons to be afraid, quote to them many wonderful promises of God from the scriptures why you should trust in God. We must learn to give our entire attention to what God is saying concerning our lives, and don’t get worked up about what the world is saying.
So beloved I encourage you, relax in the Lord and enjoy His gift of peace to you. Do not permit yourself to be fearful and intimidated. Always trust in God and believe in His Word. And His peace shall flow like river in your life. Stay Lifted!
