TIMES OF REFRESHING ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org
DATE: WEDNESDAY, 5 JULY 2023
In the depths of our souls, we often find ourselves wrestling with the turmoil of our own thoughts, desires, and weaknesses. We long for deliverance, yearning for an escape from the clutches of our own flaws and the burdens they impose upon us. It is in moments like these that we cry out, “Oh Lord, save me from myself.” When we come face to face with the truth of our human nature, recognizing our propensity for mistakes, temptations, and self-destructive patterns. It is in these moments of humility that we acknowledge our limitations and the need for divine intervention. Any wonder, the Psalmist lamented in Psalm 40:17; he said,
SCRIPTURE: “But as for me, I am poor and needy; may the Lord think of me. You are my help and my deliverer; you are my God, do not delay.” (Psalm 40:17 NIV)
