Learning to Rest in God (5)
Times Of Refreshing Daily Devotional
Date: Thursday, 25 December 2025
Topic: Learning to Rest in God (5)
Focus: Rest Came to Us (Christmas Day)
🔥Theme:
In a world that constantly demands more, God invites us to slow down and rest in Him. This devotional series explores what it truly means to stop striving, release our burdens, and trust God’s loving care. As you journey through these days, you will learn how to find peace in God’s presence, rest in His promises, and live from a place of calm confidence rather than pressure and exhaustion.
📖 Key Verse:
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28
Devotional:
Christmas reminds us that rest did not begin when life became easy—it began when Jesus came. God did not remove the burdens of the world before sending His Son. He sent rest into a weary world. Jesus was born quietly, humbly, and unexpectedly. No rush. No noise. No striving. Just God fulfilling His promise in perfect timing. Matthew 11:28 makes deeper sense on Christmas Day: “Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
📖 Scripture Reading:
• Luke 2:10–11 — Good news that brings great joy.
• Isaiah 9:6 — The Prince of Peace is born.
• Matthew 11:28 — Jesus invites the weary to rest.
💧 Refreshing for the Day:
The birth of Christ tells us this truth: God does not wait for things to be perfect before He comes near. He enters our mess with peace. He enters our waiting with hope. He enters our weariness with rest. Rest came to earth when Jesus was born—and that rest is still available today. Christmas is God saying, “You can stop striving. I am here.” Stay Refreshed!
✨ Note This:
🎄 Christmas is God’s reminder that rest is a gift, not a reward.
🛡️ Responsibility:
Today, pause and thank God for the gift of His Son. Receive His peace without striving.
🙏 Prayer:
Jesus, thank You for coming into our world and into my life. I receive Your peace today. Help me rest in Your presence and rejoice in Your love. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
🔥 Prophetic Declaration:
Because Christ has come, my heart rests. I receive peace, joy, and hope through Jesus. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
