Holy Interruptions (1)

Times Of Refreshing Daily Devotional

Date: Thursday, 5 February 2026

Topic: Holy Interruptions (1)

Focus: When God Interrupts Your Carefully Made Plans

🔥Theme:

Not every disruption is an attack. Some interruptions are divine. This devotional series explores the moments when God steps into our routines, plans, and expectations—not to frustrate us, but to redirect us. These “holy interruptions” often come disguised as delays, detours, inconveniences, or unexpected changes. As you journey through this series, you’ll learn how to recognize God’s hand in interruptions, respond with faith instead of resistance, and discover purpose hidden in disruption.

📖 Key Verse: “In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.”Proverbs 16:9

Devotional:

We plan carefully. We organize timelines, set goals, and map out our steps. Then suddenly—something changes. A door closes. A delay appears. A plan collapses.

Often, our first response is frustration. But Scripture reminds us that God is deeply involved in directing our steps. An interruption does not mean God is absent—it often means He is actively redirecting. Many people in the Bible encountered God through interruptions: Moses at the burning bush. Paul on the road to Damascus. Mary through an unexpected announcement.

📖 Scripture Reading:

  • Proverbs 16:9 — God establishes our steps
  • Acts 16:6–7 — When God redirects plans
  • Isaiah 55:8–9 — God’s ways higher than ours

💧 Refreshing for the Day:

God interrupts not to waste our time, but to realign our direction. What feels like a setback may be God’s setup for something greater. Instead of asking, “Why is this happening?” try asking, “God, what are You doing here?” God’s interruptions often protect you from paths that would have harmed you. Stay Refreshed!

Note This:

🚦 An interruption may be God’s redirection, not rejection.

🛡️ Responsibility:

Reflect on one recent interruption and ask God what He might be teaching or redirecting.

🙏 Prayer:

Father, help me trust You when my plans are interrupted. Open my eyes to see Your purpose in every disruption and teach me to follow Your leading. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

🔥 Prophetic Declaration:

I recognize God’s hand even in interruptions. My steps are ordered by the Lord, and His purpose will prevail in my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
