Draw Me Near: The Cry of the Hungry Heart (6)
Times Of Refreshing Daily Devotional
Date: Friday, 11 July 2025
Topic: Draw Me Near: The Cry of the Hungry Heart (6)
Focus: Abide and Remain
🔥 Message:
There’s a cry rising in the hearts of those who are done with surface-level Christianity—a cry for more. More than routine. More than religion. A cry for intimacy with the living God. This devotional is for the hungry. For those whose hearts whisper in the quiet: “Draw me near, Lord.” Over the next 7 days, may your desire for closeness grow deeper. May distractions fall away. And may you find that the nearness of God isn’t just possible—it’s the very purpose of your life.
📖 Key Verse:
Psalm 27:4 (NIV): “One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple.”
Devotional:
God doesn’t just want a visit—He wants a dwelling. Intimacy with God isn’t built on occasional encounters but on constant abiding. Jesus said, “Remain in Me, as I also remain in you” (John 15:4). To remain is to stay, to live, to make His presence your permanent address. Many chase moments with God, but few build a lifestyle of communion. The secret to lasting fruit and deep peace is learning to abide—to wake up aware of Him, walk with Him through the day, and rest in Him at night.
📖 Scripture Reading:
John 15:4–5 – “Remain in Me, and I will remain in you…”
Psalm 91:1 – “Whoever dwells in the secret place…”
Colossians 2:6–7 – “Rooted and built up in Him…”
💧 Refreshing for the Day:
Beloved, abiding isn’t complicated. It’s a heart posture of awareness and dependence. It’s whispering prayers throughout the day. It’s choosing Him over hurry. It’s meditating on His Word when you could scroll your phone. So, when you abide, you stay rooted. When you remain, you grow deep. And when you grow deep, you bear fruit that lasts. God’s presence is not a place you visit—it’s a home you live in. Stay Refreshed!
✨ Note This:
You won’t bear fruit by striving—but by staying.
🛡️ Responsibility:
✅ Slow down today. Whisper short prayers throughout your activities. Practice being aware of God’s nearness—He’s not far off. He’s dwelling with you.
🙏 Prayer:
Lord, I don’t want to leave Your presence—I want to live in it. Teach me to abide, to walk with You moment by moment. Let Your presence become my home. I choose to remain in You today. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
🔥 Prophetic Declaration:
I abide in Christ! His life flows through me. I don’t just visit His presence—I live there. I am rooted, steady, and fruitful because I remain in Him. Alleluia!
📖 Bible Texts:
Psalm 27:4; 91:1, John 15:4-5, Colossians 2:6-7
