BELIEVING FOR THE UNUSUAL

TIMES OF REFRESHING ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL

DATE: THURSDAY 4 MARCH 2021

We’re too normal and have allowed our normalcy mentality to becloud our sense of faith in God. When God speaks something to us, instead of coming up to His level and believing for the unusual, we bring it down to our level. God’s Words and promises are infallible. Normal says “a woman above 50 years won’t have babies again’. It says, “Until you do money ritual, you won’t be rich”. And we are bought into these lies and gradually watered-down God’s promises.

If we’re going to attain God’s promises in our life and become all we were created to be; we have to express unwavering faith in God, and resolve to believe for the unusual.

SCRIPTURE: Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh. Is anything too hard for me? (Jeremiah 32:27) ESV

REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: Don’t reduce God’s promises to what you thought could happen.

In Genesis 15, God promised Abraham he was going to have a son. The problem was, Abraham was 75 years old, his wife Sarah was 65, they’d never had children, for Sarah had been barren all these years. Year after year went by with no sign of a baby. Normal said to Sarah “it’s been too long, you’re wasting your time, you’re 80 years and too old, it’s never going to happen”.

Finally, Sarah said to Abraham to sleep with her maid, that way they could have a baby. She thought that’s the only way it would happen. She watered down the promise of God, and reduced it to what she thought would happen. Many times, we do like Sarah: just because the promises of God didn’t happen immediately, we would reduce it to what we thought could happen. He said, “is anything too hard for me”?

Beloved, that God promises was delayed doesn’t mean its denial. You don’t help God to make it happen. God doesn’t need that kind of help, He is God, He spoke the world into existence, He’s not limited to solutions to turn your situation around. He doesn’t lack the competency to favor you and bolster your business, He is still in the business of making a poor man rich instantly, (Eccl 11:21). All you need to do is to pray, keep on believing for the unusual and it shall be well with you. Stay Lifted!

NOTE THIS: Don’t reduce God’s promises to what you thought could happen.

RESPONSIBILITY: Don’t heed the counsel of men, but believe in and patiently wait on God’s unfallen Words and promises.

PRAYER:  O LORD, help me to believe in Your Words, and cause me to wait patiently for Your promises in my life, in the name of Jesus’ Amen! (Go ahead and continue to pray)

PROPHETIC WORD: As you wait on the Lord, may you never expire, in the name of Jesus, Amen.
