When You Feel Spiritually Dry
Times Of Refreshing Daily Devotional
Date: Thursday, 9 April 2026
Topic: Faith in the Dark Seasons (5)
Focus: When You Feel Spiritually Dry
🔥Theme:
Every believer experiences seasons where life feels bright and clear—and seasons where it feels dark and uncertain. In those darker moments, answers seem distant, direction feels unclear, and faith can feel fragile. Yet Scripture shows that dark seasons are not wasted seasons. They are often the places where faith grows deeper, trust becomes stronger, and our dependence on God becomes real. This series explores how to walk with God when the path is not fully visible. When the light feels dim, faith becomes the guide.
📖 Key Verse:
“Who among you fears the Lord and obeys the word of His servant? Let the one who walks in the dark, who has no light, trust in the name of the Lord and rely on their God.” — Isaiah 50:10
Devotional:
There are seasons when your spiritual life feels vibrant—and others when it feels dry. Prayer feels routine. Worship feels quiet. Scripture seems less alive than before. Many believers quietly struggle with this and wonder if something is wrong with their faith. But spiritual dryness is not always a sign of spiritual failure. Sometimes it is a season where God is deepening your faith beyond emotions. Feelings can come and go. Faith must learn to stand even when emotions are not strong.
📖 Scripture Reading:
- Psalm 42:1–5 — Speaking hope to your soul
- 2 Corinthians 5:7 — Walking by faith
- Hebrews 11:6 — Faith that pleases God
💧 Refreshing for the Day:
Love for God that continues in dryness becomes stronger than love that depends on constant spiritual excitement. David experienced these moments and cried out, “Why, my soul, are you downcast?” Yet even in that dryness, he chose hope. God is still present in dry seasons. He is teaching you to trust Him beyond feelings. Faith grows deeper when it learns to continue even without emotional highs. Stay Refreshed!
✨ Note This:
🌵 Dry seasons can produce deeper roots.
🛡️ Responsibility:
Continue your spiritual habits—prayer, Scripture, and worship—even if they feel ordinary.
🙏 Prayer:
Father, when my spirit feels dry, help me remain faithful. Strengthen my trust and draw me closer to You beyond feelings. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
🔥 Prophetic Declaration:
My faith remains strong in every season. Even in dryness, God is present and working in my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
